After skipping more than a few seasons when I was pregnant, we have now headed back to the slopes for some snowboarding – and the best bit was the kids were right there with us doing it for themselves. The sheer joy at seeing them ski behind you down the slopes makes everything worthwhile and you start to realise this is what it’s all about – passing on the best bits of you and your life to your littlies.
This is the same me that three and a half years ago was three stone heavier and pregnant with my daughter and never thought I’d make it back on my mountain bike, and now I’m happily back on track towing my girl behind me on her bike and my boy alongside pedalling with my husband. My full suss mountain bike is back in action too and I regularly head out to the Peak District.
Oh, and if you’re wondering, yes my sushi and caffeine intake is right back up there.
All this reminded me that as much as I loved the end product of being pregnant, my major gripe when I was pregnant was that people just saw me as a pregnant blob but I wanted to shout out ‘no, I do stuff too you know!’ so, that’s where mepod maternity t-shirts comes from – giving mummies-to-be a little voice about who they are – and what they will bring to their children’s lives.
Having searched for maternity t-shirts and maternity products with a funky look throughout both my pregnancies I felt there was a gap in the maternity market that I intend to fill with mepod – I want our products to be something worth getting pregnant for – just to wear a mepod t-shirt or one of our accessories!
